Swimming Pool Register

NSW Government legislation states that all swimming pools (including spas and portable pools) are required to be registered on the NSW Swimming Pool Register. Hurstville City Council is calling on swimming pool owners to be vigilant about Pool Safety and to register their pools.

Owners should have registered their swimming pool on the NSW state-wide register by 29 October 2013. Fines of $220 can be issued for pools that have not been registered and further fines of up to $2200 may be imposed if non-compliance matters are referred to Court.

How to Register your Swimming Pool

There are two ways to register.

  • Registration is available through the NSW Swimming Pools Register web site at and is free of charge.
  • Hurstville Council pool owners can visit Council's Customer Service Counter, during business hours where officers can assist in registering their pool. A $10 fee may apply.

At this point of time registration forms are still being accepted for existing swimming pools and spas at Council without incurring a fine.
