The retune is coming to the greater Sydney region and surrounds on 18 March 2014

24 Feb 2014

The retune is a national programme that moves free-to-air television channels to new frequencies.

What is the retune?

The retune is a national programme that moves free-to-air television channels to new frequencies. These moves, to be completed by the end of 2014, will free up space for new services such as mobile broadband. After channels have changed, viewers will need to retune their digital TV, set-top box or digital TV recorder to find the channels that have moved.

When is it?

In the greater Sydney region and surrounds, some free-to-air digital TV channels will be changing frequency on 18 March.

Who does it affect?

Residents in greater Sydney, Macarthur and Hawkesbury regions, Picton, Bowral and Mittagong will need to retune on this date.

Service outages

There may be temporary disruptions to all TV services on the retune day. Service outages on the days
leading up to and shortly after the retune may also be necessary, due to work being conducted at the
transmission site.

For more information

For more information about the retune, or to sign up for an SMS or email reminder, visit the retune website, www.digitalready.gov.au/retune or call the Digital Ready Information Line on 1800 20 10 13, 8am to 10pm (AEDST) 7 days.
