Frequently Asked Questions

What is Infrastructure Plus?

Hurstville City Council aims to provide high quality roads, parks and community facilities in the suburbs in a financially sustainable manner through its Infrastructure Plus program of capital works.

As outlined in our 2006-2009 Management Plan and budget, Council intends to raise $24 million over 15 years to bring forward much-needed works on our City's roads, footpaths, parks, sporting fields, town centres and community facilities.

Council regularly reports back to the community on the specific Infrastructure Plus maintenance and replacement projects that are completed.

Special Rate Variation

Infrastructure Plus is funded through 'Special Rate' funds. Since 2006 Council has applied a Special Rate with the approval of the Minister for Local Government.  Approval for a Special Rate Variation followed an intensive community consultation period.
