New club to help empower business women
12 Oct 2012
Mayor of Hurstville, Cr Jack Jacovou has welcomed the news of a new group She Business that aims to support business women in the St George region.
Mayor Jacovou said the club was for female business owners, entrepreneurs and careerists.
“Women-owned businesses account for around 53% of businesses in Australia - with similar numbers in southern Sydney,” he said.
“The concept of a business club, rather than networking, is it’s a space where women really get to know each other over time.
“Members build business friendships and they in turn lead to the formation of partnerships and alliances, greater performance and over time significantly better and longer lasting profitability.”
Mayor Jacovou encouraged female business owners to join the club.
“She Business CEO Suzy Jacobs will launch the Southern Sydney club on Wednesday 17 October 2012, from 8.45am to 10.45am at the SummerSalt Restaurant,” he said.
“At the launch, Jacobs will share the insights she’s gained having worked with and supported hundreds of extraordinary business women all working towards building real businesses.”
Mayor Jacovou said that Loral Langemeier, who is an acclaimed money expert, will be the guest speaker.
“Langemeier has coached thousands of success stories around the world by giving them the simple tools to generate cash and build wealth,” he said.
“In 2011, she was recognised by Forbes Magazine as a standout woman in business so this is a fantastic opportunity to hear firsthand her experience in being a successful business woman.”
