Hurstville Home Library Service Christmas Concert serves up treats from the past

18 Nov 2005

“The Home Library Concerts have proved to be very popular in the past,” said Hurstville Mayor, Clr Vince Badalalti.

“Don't miss this year's concert, it promises to be a wonderful afternoon of entertainment.”

The concert will feature two acts, Jim Herning will be presenting musical comedy and popular songs from the 60's through to the 90's and the second act features the ‘War Babies', an Andrew Sisters style trio.  The ‘War Babies' will perform their ‘Hits from the Blitz' show which includes great songs like ‘We'll Meet Again' and ‘The White Cliffs of Dover'.  The girls recreate the 1940's war era, dressing in uniforms and wearing the styles of the 1940's.

The concert is open to the public and tickets can be purchased at Hurstville Central Library, Penshurst Branch or at the door on the day of the concert.  Tickets are $5.00 and include refreshments.
