Plans of Management (Parks and Reserves)
The NSW Local Government Act 1993 provides the legislative framework for Council's day to day operation. The Act emphasises Council's responsibility to actively manage land and to involve the community in developing a strategy for management.
The Act requires all community lands to be covered by a plan of management which must identify:
- category of the land
- objectives and outcomes for the land
- means by which Council proposes to achieve objectives and outcomes
- way by which Council proposes to assess its performance
