Chemical Clean Out program

Hurstville City Council will be hosting the next Household Chemical CleanOut Collection. 


WHERE: Hurstville City Council, Works Depot, Mortdale. ENTRY VIA DEPOT ROAD
WHEN: Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2015
TIME: 9.00am to 3.30pm

Open to all members of the public.

Saturday 15 August 2015 Bankstown Council, Bankstown City Paceway, Eldridge Rd, Condell Park
Sunday 30 August 2015 Liverpool Council, Operations Centre, 99 Rose Street, Liverpool
Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September 2015 Sutherland Council, Bellingara Netball Centre car park, Bellingara Rd, Miranda
Saturday 31 October 2015 Canada Bay Council, Cintra Park car par, Crane St, Canada Bay


Materials accepted include:

  • Paints
  • Pesticides and herbicides
  • Poisons
  • Solvents and chemical cleaners
  • Motor oils, fuels and fluids
  • Car batteries
  • Gas bottles
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Flares 
  • Pool chemicals
  • Acids and alkalis
  • Hobby chemicals
  • Florescent tubes.

Only household quantities of up to 20 kilograms or 20 litres of chemicals will be accepted.

Council collected almost 35 tonnes of material at the most recent collection event in May 2015.
