Community Care Services
People between 18 and 65 years of age with disability can received assistance to become independent at home and in the community through the joint Australian and NSW government Home and Community Care Program (HACC). The program also provides support for carers. Services funded through HACC include:
- nursing care
- allied health care
- meals and other food services
- domestic assistance
- personal care
- home modification and maintenance
- transport
- respite care
- counselling, support, information and advocacy
- assessment.
Everyone has a right to social independence, to be valued as an individual, and to be treated with dignity, respect, privacy and confidentiality. High quality, affordable and accessible services are essential to the wellbeing of people with disability and their carers.
Network meetings
Organisations for people disability in the St George region meet regularly to network and share ideas, to ensure that people with disability and their carers have access to high-quality, relevant services.
